The actual name of Sunrise Peak (城山日出峯) is Seongsan Ilchulbong. It is a typical tuff cone formed by hydrovolcanic eruptions upon a shallow sea bed about 5 thousand years ago. It is situated on the eastern seaboard of Jeju Island (濟州島). Sunrise Peak is said to resemble a gigantic ancient castle. This tuff cone is 182 meters high, has a preserved bowl-like crater and also displays diverse inner structures resulting from the sea cliff.

The two sketches were specially drawn for my two new friends Jessica and Mandy whom I met in my recent tour to Jeju Island. My wife and I had a nice holiday there and I am going to paint more pictures of the amazing seashores and coastlines of the island.

Patrick painted this beautiful scene for his good friend Mr Sam Cheng who kindly teaches him how to swim so as to improve his health.

A similar painting but from a different angle.
